Jax's 3 month check up

Today was the day that we finally were able to go to the doctor to get Jax checked out. It was supposed to be his 2 month appointment but will end up being closer to 3 months because he turns 3 months old on Sunday. We were so excited because we were going to finally figure out where Jax stands with his weight.

Shaileen was so excited about his weight. He was about a half pound more than we expected.

He weighes in at a whopping 9lbs 12.5 oz. We are so proud of him, it seems like he is so big but in reality he is still so small. He is only 21 inches tall right now too.

So here are the percentages that we were so excited to get.

0.31% in weight
0.01% in height
0.27 % in Head Circumference
80.72% in height/weight comparison. (This one means that even though he is small his height and weight are a really good match)

I look quite drunk here

Jax wasn't sure what to think when the doctor started checking him out. However, he did really good.

I am pretty sure Jax knew what was coming next. SHOT TIME...

Isn't this the saddest thing you have ever seen? He has been pretty sad tonight but has been sleeping a lot.

What Jax thinks of Dad!

This is what Jax thinks of me watching him while Mom is at work!

enough said.

All Smiles

This past week or so Jax has been smiling so much more and reacting to smiles that you give him. We can finally tell that they are happy smiles and not just gas smiles. It is so much fun to see him happy. It absolutely makes our day. Since Shaileen went back to work I have really enjoyed spending each night with him. At times it certainly is tough but so rewarding. There are not many Dads that get this opportunity. I am trying to take advantage of every minute with him.

On a side note. It is crazy to think that he is here and in our family. Shaileen and I waited and prayed for a very long time with many heart breaks. Like I have said over and over again it has taken away that pain. He has made every second worth it in the journey to have him come into our family. I know that it has made me more prepared and a better Dad. I will never take for grantid that I have him as my son. I love him so much. I say this because we know many people that are going through the adoption process as well as fertility treatments. I just want you to know that it is all worth it. There are days that you are going to feel like crap and feel like giving up. DON'T! Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. Let him work his miricles and you will certianly be blessed. I know this because we have been blessed with more than we could have ever asked for.

Bumbo and Mickey Mouse

The past week or so Jax has really started to enjoy sitting in his bumbo. As you can tell from the first picture he does not always like it but tolerates it most of the time. The one thing that he really enjoys is watching Mickey Mouse. I don't think he really knows that is going on but I think he likes the colors and sounds. He will sit for a whole episode and watch it. He has made it much easier to get stuff done around the house since he will sit and watch a show. He is such a good kid and I certainly do love him an awful lot.

Jax's first rainy BYU game

This past Saturday we went to the BYU game. Before we left we didn't think it would be that bad of weather because it said 30% chance of rain. 30% my eye, that weather man was full of bologna. It was terrible weather. Luckily it cleared up after two hours and the game was on. We brought Jax with us. Initially we were scared but the weather ended up being just perfect. To begin with he was in a wrap while he was sleeping but woke up pretty quick and wanted to enjoy the game. The football game was incredible. Everybody was not expecting much out of BYU because they played terrible the week before. They came out ready to play however and killed Texas 40-21. During the game Jax got a little fussy for a while, so Shaileen took him out into the concourse to calm him down. Luckily we have isle seats this year so it was nice when BYU scored a touchdown because Shaileen would run up and give me a high 5. Can't hardly wait another 2 weeks until their next game when BYU plays Utah. Should be a fun game.

Jax's new cousin

Yesterday Gracie Eleanor Glover was born. We were especially excited because that means another cousin for Jax to play with. On Shaileen's side of the family this is 4 grandchildren in 9ish months. We are so happy for Candice and Gary.

Happy grandparents day

Yesterday was grandparents day and lickily we were able to see all of Jax's grandparents. We are so thankful that they are in Jax's life. He is going to grow up so close to each of them. My favorite thing was Jax was even able to see his great grandma Alice. You can see the love that she has for him.

He is out of newborn diapers

Jax is officially out of newborn diapers. Crazy thing is he is over two months old now and just barely out of them. I think Jax knew we were about out of newborn diapers. To us it seems like he is growin so fast but in reality he is still tiny!

2 MONTHS OLD

Holy cow, time travels so quick. Jax is 2 months old today. He is so perfect. We are guessing that he is about 8 and a half pounds and is still pretty short. :) It is crazy to think that he has already been here two months but at the same time it feels like he has been with us forever. It is absolutely incredible how much love you can have for a person so immediately. It makes me wonder what knowledge we had of Jax in the pre-existence and if Jax knew he was coming into our family in heaven. If I had to guess i would say that he did. When he looks at both Shaileen and me in the eyes you can tell that he knows us and loves us so much already. It is fun to think about that we will have not only this earth life but eternity with him after we go through the temple at the beginning of 2014. I love this boy more than words can explain

Geocaching with Jax

Jax and I went on a long walk today to find some geocaches in our neighborhood. We walked about 2-3 miles and found 2 of them. It is so much fun to just get out of the house. Jax was being kind of fussy but as soon as we stepped outside he did not make one sound during our  whole walk. As soon as we walked back inside he started fussing again. I think he is trying to get me back into shape. If you have never been geocaching before I would definitely recommend it. It is pretty much a treasure hunt around the world.

Sick Jax boy

Yesterday Jax got really sick again out of no where. It was kind if weird and so sad. We are not sure what it is. If it does not get a bit better by tomorrow we will take him to the doctor then. He has a real raspy cry but is not coughing, doesn't seem to have an ear ache, and is eating perfectly. I just hate seeing my little buddy sad. Hope he gets better quickly.

BYU vs Virginia

This past Saturday was BYU's first football game of the year. We had my parents over as well as Shaileen's Dad, step mother and little sister. We had a great time even though byu lost. We can't wait to take Jax to the first game this next Saturday as long as it is good weather. GO COUGARS!!!!!

It is hard to read what his onesie says hit it says "don't change me till the game is over"

Obviously Jax can't read excuse he decided to pee through his diaper so
We had to take him out of his onsie! Haha...
