So this morning started out great. We slept in a bit and when we woke up Shaileen layed in bed with me for a while and let me watch the NFL Scouting Combine. After a while we got up and started getting some housework done because my side of the family is coming over for dinner tomorrow night. As I was cleaning all of a sudden Shaileen started screaming "Kurt, hurry come help me quick" over and over again! I sprinted into the kitchen to a murder scene on our kitchen counter. Shaileen was doing dishes and was washing the steak knives. She slipped and gashed open her index finger on her right hand. We waited for a minute to look at it because it was bleeding so bad. When she took the rag off of her finger we immediately knew that we had to go to instacare to get stitches. We hurried and got in the car and raced there to get there and wait about 45 minutes to be taken back. When the doctor came back he said that he was sorry for Shaileen because he was going to have to give her a shot in her finger to numb it and that is the worst place to get a shot in the pad of your finger because of all of the nerve endings there. I was watching and not only did he give her one shot. He inserted the needle about 6 or 7 times. Shaileen about ripped my hand off from squeezing it so hard. After that the doctor put in a total of 5 stitches and told us to come back in 8ish days to get the stitches taken out. Shaileen was quite the trooper and is definately one tough cookie. (hope you enjoy the pictures hehe)

It has been too long!
I know Kurt does most of the blogging but I thought I would this time!! As Kurt mentioned yesterday we have been slacking about posting. We have been busy with "life"! On February 16th my beautiful mother got married!! I think they were meant to be together! Greg is an awesome guy and makes her so happy! She looked beautiful and he was so handsome! It was just a small little ceremony with a little get together after. Stacy (my big sista) and I spent all day preparing the food! It turned out great!
They went to Puerto Vallarta on their honeymoon!! We went and picked them up from the airport last night! They were nice and tan... I was do jealous!!
...
That weekend Kurt and I went on a date! We went out to dinner at Tucano's Brazilian Grill, it was DELICIOUS!! I think that is my favorite place to eat. We then went back home to just relax. we switched back and forth between JAZZ and BYU basketball! I started my new craft project also. It is from the Wood Connection and it is the word HOME but the "O" is interchangeable for each month! I love it.... I will probably finish tonight or tomorrow.

Valentines Day
So today was valentines day. We started by waking up early so we could get ready for work. When Shaileen got out of the shower I had her card waiting for her! I think she was a bit surprised because she knows that valentines day is not my favorite holiday. Don't think she thought I would get her anything. I found a card that fit just perfectly. Also I got her this nice necklace that I thought personally looked real nice. Hopefully she really liked it. She also got me a real meaningful card that I love! It was a real relaxed day just the way we like it!

Thoughts on Family Fast
We first off have to say THANK YOU to our immediate and extended family! This past weekend we asked them to have a family fast for us but more for birth families. It was hard for us to ask others to fast but we truely do appreciate everyones unselfishness.
A family member that was fasting sent us an email. I will not name who it is just in case they are not comfortable but we really appreciate their kindness. This person put together a real good lengthy email which hit me real deep. The part that really helped is they said that they were prompted to send a conference talk with the email. Man, the spirit can really hit you hard when he wants. The talk was "Waiting Upon The Lord: Thy Will Be Done" by Robert D Hales from the October 2011 conference!
In the talk he talks about how the lord went through many trials but it is how he went through the trials and his actions that I need to learn from. The Lords preparation began in the premortal life where he said to his father, "Thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever." I need to realize that I need to allow the plan to work its course. It is sometimes hard to understand why it is that when we are trying to do all of the right things from going to church, fulfilling our callings, fasting, praying, ect. we are still given trials and tribulations! Someone's testimony in church this past week really hit me when they were talking about how thankful he we was for the medical trials he was given because without trials we would not know the difference between the good times and the bad. From the talk I learned that I need to wait upon the Lord as he knows the eternal timetable. It says that in the scriptures the word wait means to hope, to anticipate, and to trust. to hope and trust requires faith, patience, humility, meekness, long suffering, keeping the commandments and enduring to the end. It sounds to simple but it is certainly hard to keep that eternal perspective sometimes. It says that we may not know when or how the Lord's answers will be given but in His time and His way. Brother Hales testifies that the answers certainly will come, his blessings are eternal not temporary. During this time of waiting/searching for a child we need to learn to become the best we can be with being tolerent, merciful and forgiving as Bro. Hales puts it. We also need to love each other as our savior loves each of us. With having a strong relationship with each other it will help in future parenting and show our child how we should be. We also need to take the opportunity to serve others. This not only will take our mind off of matters but it will help us learn to love others as well because through service is how we learn to love the ones we serve. In closing Bro Hales says "May we wait upon Him by pressing forward in faith, that we may say in our prayers, "Thy will be done" and return to Him with honor. I am so very greatful for the way that I was brought up in my family to know of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that through him all things all possible and I can wait with assurance that everything will be ok in the end because everything happens for a reason. I have always been taught that there is not a trial that will be placed in front of us that we cannot handle. It will certainly take consistant work to overcome some of these but if we trust and have faith we can conquer these trials whatever they be! I would like to thank everyone for reading our blog as it helps us through our adoption process. (sorry if none of that made sense as well because I am certainly not a writer!)

Magic Mania
Lately while at work when it is slow I have been learning magic off of YouTube. Not sure if i should be proud of it but I do! Carlye was over for a little bit today so I showed her a pretty cool card trick. She loved it and wants to learn tricks too. After Shaileen and Carlye were showing off their cool mustaches!
