NEW YEARS RESOLUTION SUCCESS/NEW
5 years ago tomorrow I made a resolution to stop drinking soda for good and I have stuck with it. When I first began I didn't think I could do it because I consider that I used to be addicted to Mountain Dew. It is one of the few things that I am really proud of myself for sticking with and going to continue sticking with.
As it is the time of year that I am reflecting on how this last year went and what I want to do to make this new year better and make me a better person I have been thinking a lot on what I can resolve. This last year has been hectic and both Shaileen and I have received a lot of service from friends and family mostly during our failed adoption placement. One of my resolutions this next year is to serve others more. I have noticed that when I am serving others is when I am happiest in life.
As always I resolve to not only lose weight but to become healthy. As most of you know Shaileen and I are going through the adoption process currently and I want to be the best husband/father I can be when it happens. One big step to be the best is to be there. The way I am living when it comes to health is not helping that matter. These last 5 years I have not had and soda to drink, which makes me know that I have the ability to stick to a plan and keep it.
Another thing that I thought about on Christmas that I want to do better at is not just post pictures in this blog but also write what is going on. Shaileen gave me these cool blog2print books that we print out and keep on our coffee table. When I thumbed through them I noticed that they are mostly pictures, which is not a bad thing. However, several years down the road when I am looking back the pictures will be awesome to look at but we will want to know what we were doing and the thoughts we had about it.
Shaileen and I look forward to what 2013 brings! Happy New Year

Basketball & Ikea
If you know anything about us we live BYU and Ikea! Thanks to my parents we were able to go to the BYU basketball game at Energy Solutions Arena. It was a blast especially since BYU came ready to play and beat Virginia Tech 97-71! We hadn't been to a game all year so far but look forward to going to more in the future. After the amazing win we needed to get a few things from the store for our house so we drove out to Ikea in Draper. We got a new area rug for our basement as well as some new Tupperware like stuff. The funny thing about it is we did not get a single thing we were going for. I guess that is what happens when we go to there!

Christmas Day 2012
Its finally Christmas day! We woke up at 5:45 to get ready for the day and open our own gifts to each other at our own house. I love seeing Shaileen open the gifts that I got her.
I put together a little stocking for our future kid. Never too early to prepare :)
Shaileen said that this was her favorite gift of the year. It is an adoption necklace from the R House. it says "I Love Adoption" in a heart shape.
This was easily my favorite gift of the year. Shaileen is so thoughful. She put together hard bound books of this blog so we have it in written form. It was 2 books with one of them being about 135 pages and the other being about 75 pages that spanned over the last 2 years. It is going to be the best coffee table book. It's not very often that I get online to look at old blog posts. This will be cool to look back at, especially with our future kids to show what life was like before they were born and show how the adoption process went and how much we did to bring them to our home. Thanks Shaileen! I love you!
Immediatly after we finished up at our house we went over to Shaileen's Dads house. We spent about 4 hours over there and had a blast. Their favorite Christmas tradition is having what they call Christmas Hash in the morning for breakfast every year. So we opened gifts and had breakfast. Can I just say that I have the best wife ever. She opened a gift from her Dad and it was a Packers hoodie and she freaked out with excitement. How cool is that?
Right after finishing up at her Dad's house we went over to my parents house to spend time over there. It was really fun but to begin with a little hard at the same time because it was the first year without my Grandpa there. It is generally his and my Grandma's yearly tradition to do Christmas breakfast and have everyone over to their house. My favorite were the eggs that Grandpa would make. I am not sure why I liked them so much but it was one of my absolute favorite things about Christmas day. This year my parents decided to continue the tradition at their house. They did an excellent job and we look forward to continuing the tradition in a new way.
After going to my parents house we went home for just under an hour to grab a few things before we went over to Shaileen's Mom's house. It was a blast. Both of her sisters were there as well as the step siblings. We were excited because her Mom gave us a photo of the temple and it was the temple that we were married/sealed in. We spent time eating and just time together.
We were absolutely beat after the day but it was a great day! Thank you to our family for all of the gifts but more because they make not only Christmas but everyday special to us. Merry Christmas to everyone.
Christmas Eve 2012
We love Christmas Eve almost as much as we love Christmas and you can see why. We both went into work for only a half a day which was 8-noon. We then drove over to Shaileen's moms house to spend some time with them. Both Annie and Darcy were there and then Ryan and Monica showed up as well. We frosted sugar cookies and spent time together just talking.
After going to Shaileen's Mom's house we went over to my parents. My Grandma, parents, Kimberly and her family and Bret and his family were there. Mom made some really good food. We played Bingo and chimes. My favorite part of the night is always the story of the Night Before Christmas that is a recently new tradition that my Dad always reads to all of us.
When we got home we did our little tradition of opening our PJ's so we could sleep in them.
Shaileen always does an awesome job at picking out pajamas.

HAYRIDE AND GESTURES
I think we started a new Cline family tradition last night. A guy my dad works with asked him if our family would like to go on a hayride to Christmas St in Taylorsville so we got together as a family and went over. We of course took hot chocolate and some of Hilarie's famous rice krispy treat bears, and some cookies and had a great time. After we went back to my parents house to warm up and we had to play our holiday favorite, Gestures! It had been several years since we had played Gestures but brought back some great memories. Especially the one where Grandpa Earl got the word nipple and pretty much took off his shirt. I can't believe it has been a year almost since his passing. I miss him every day. Thanks for the great time Mom and Dad. We look forward to coming over tonight for more fun!

Annual Cline Christmas Party
It is that time of the year again. It was time for the annual Cline family christmas party. We look forward to it every year because my parents do such an awesome job putting it together. We had a great dinner and Shaileen made all of the soup. She made zupa toscana, chili and brocolli cheese. yummmmm. We decorated gingerbread houses, played dodgeball, and the most famous is the balloon game. We are so thankful to have such a great loving family. Can't wait until we have a little one so they can enjoy all of the things with our family as we do. Thanks again Mom and Dad for being the best parents ever
