Best Day Ever!

Shaileen and I have been working late night shifts for the past at least the past 3 years. It seems as if during our work week we wake up and go to work and get home eat dinner and go to sleep. However, we found out today the best news ever! FROM THIS COMING MONDAY ON WE WILL BE WORKING 8:00-4:30 every day! We are so excited because we are going to have a life during the work week. I have been wanting to get back to the gym so I will have time at nights now. Also, I was asked to help out coach softball with Shaileen's Dad. We really just look forward to having some time to our selves. I can also say that my front yard will truely appreciate it as well.

On a side note on Tuesday I applied for a part time job on weekends working as a public safety officer up at Snowbird Ski Resort just for some extra cash money! So, wish me luck.

Easter egg hunt at grandmas

Parents house and had a great dinner! They made chicken and steak kabobs. Mmmmmm. It is so nice to get together with family and just spend time together. My mom and dad are leaving town for Easter so they put together an Easter egg hunt for the grand kids. They loved it. U decided that I need to stop slacking and take my nice slr camera with me from now on and stop only using my phone so I can get what I want out of my photos...

Real Salt Lake

Last night we went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game! The best part about it is it was included in the pass of all passes card that we got! We had a great time even though we don't know the rules for soccer at all! Haha If you have never heard of the pass of all passes definitely check it out cause its a great deal! It's nice to be able to go out to activities like this cause it feels lie we are not even spending money cause it's on the season pass

Adoption Song

A while ago I bought Shaileen a CD off of Amazon.com because I heard that it was incredible. The CD is songs of adoption. Today The R House (http://www.therhouse.com/adoption-cd-giveaway-chosen/) shared a post of a video with my favorite song on the CD. The photos shown on this video are incredible and really shows that adoption is really about love just as our agency's motto says. Not just on our side of adoption but the Birth Mother and Father. We are so thankful for the many birth mothers out there and especially the ones that placed with my sister Kimberly. They are such strong people and love their child so much. They truely show me what true love is. We cannot wait to be chosen in the future and have a relationship with a birth family! It is such a special bond. Watch the video for sure...!

Weekend Fun

Friday Girls Night!!

On Friday night I had a much needed girls night with two of my closest friends! We hung out, talked, made homemade donuts, and watched the new Footloose movie... It was a blast. I feel like in the past I have taken for granted a good friend and I am do grateful that they have always stood by me! Love you girls!!!

St George and Richfield Trip

We had a great time this past weekend traveling down to Richfield and St George. The reason we traveled down there is Shaileen's cousin had finalized their adoption last weekend so they were taking little Zoe through the St George temple to be sealed to them. What a cool experience it was to see the sealing. They were all very excited with huge smiles on their faces. It meant even a little extra to us because we as I am sure you know are trying to adopt too. We also had a great time spending time with Shaileen's grandmother and cousins. It overall was a great weekend. I even put together this little video of it! Check it out!

Please Help Those that are Adopting!

We all know adoption can be expensive, did you know the Federal Adoption tax credit is set to expire? The current adoption tax credit is just over $13,000 and is refundable.2013 Only families who adopt special needs children from foster care will be eligible for up to $6,000 in the adoption tax credit. However, the credit will be based on expenses so families would need to have qualified adoption expenses to claim any credit. The credit will not be refundable, so families can benefit only if they have federal income tax liability. The income limits for the credit will also be reduced significantly in 2013, meaning that families with higher incomes will not benefit.The adoption credit was made permanent for special needs adoption when the credit was first created. Credits for other adoptions are time limited and are scheduled to end by December 31, 2012.Many of us cannot afford to complete our adoptions without this tax credit. Please sign the petition and contact your senators and representatives. Ask friends to sign. The website has a link to post it to your facebook. Just over 3,000 more signatures are needed.
