Feeding the homeless 12-9-12
Several times per year we go with Shaileen's Dad's ward downtown to feed the homeless. It is such a great experience each and every time that we do it. I take so much of what I have for grantid. It was even more special this time becuase it is getting so close to Christmas and it was freezing outside. When we have children I think this is going to be an amazing teaching tool for them.

On Sunday Kurt and I just watched the morning session of Conference together!! Right after the morning session we went on a little min road trip with my Dad, Cindy, and Carlye. We drove to Fairfield, UT where my dad lived for the first 11 years of his life. He grew up on a 40 thousand acre ranch there. We walked around the town Cedar Fort as well, that is where his church and Elementary school were. It was AWESOME listening to his storied of growing up. I videotaped the whole thing and there will be a later post on that!!
That night we then got together at Taylorsville Park with my mom and Greg and most of the kids for our Sunday dinner. We had sub sandwiches and other yummy salads and goodies!! It was a fun night!
What a great weekend!! (Sorry I know its a LONG post!!!)

Christmas lights
Shaileen and I decided on Thursday night that after work on Friday we wanted to go see the Christmas house in Murray! If you have not been there I fully recommend it! It is just in the neighborhood south of the sport authority! It will be crazy busy when you go but we just parked at the church and walked over. The guy that puts it on has a lot of time on his hands and wants to pay a bigger electric bill than I want to! Haha. We really enjoyed it though!

One of the best Saturdays in a long time!
As you can tell from the photos below we had a fun filled, tiring day of adventure! We love this time of the year and one of the reasons is because Carlye starts her Jr Jazz basketball. We really enjoy going to cheer her on and support her. This year she has got much better and one of the best players on her team!

She was really into it! :)

Bestest Sisters!

After the basketball game I needed to go to one store and finish up some christmas shopping. Shaileen knew it was going to be a busy day so she got some shut eye to make sure she was going to make it through the day.
If you read one of my previous posts you would know that our new nephew was coming home today! We went and decorated my sisters house to Welcome them home and into the family! We also brought some hotdogs and hamburgers and had a little BBQ.

Sampson was soooo happy to see us. He is such a good dog that he will stay home all by himself as long as you leave food and water out for him.

Grandma and Alex!

Shaileen made some pretty awesome cookies and as you can tell DJ loved them!

Dad and Alex
We even had a fun night because after leaving my sisters house we went to hang out with some friends and went to dinner at Johnny Carinos and when home and talked and had a great time. It was nice hanging out with them because it had been a long time. We are so lucky to have the lives that we have to be able to spend time with family and friends as often as we do. Sometimes it is tiring being busy but certainly well worth it!

What a great Saturday!
Yesterday we had a really fun day. It started out by waking up and going to both of my nephews championship little league football games. Unfortunately they both lost but they played really well. It was really fun but absolutely freezing. The wind was blowing very hard and started to rain/snow at the end. Later that night we went to the BYU vs Idaho game. It was really fun. It started at 7:30pm so it was a really late game. BYU spanked Idaho and the final score was 42-7! If you have not found out by now we are huge BYU fans! We had to be with going to that game last night because it was way late and super cold!

Scott's 50th Surprise Birthday
On Tuesday night we had a surprise 50th birthday for Shaileen's Dad. We had a pretty great time. Over 50 people met up at Red Robin and we had a great time.

This past Sunday we celebrated his birthday party and we gave him his birthday present. He was kind of bummed because he did not get any peanuts. You better believe that we did not forget the peanuts! He was pretty excited to see them.

This is Shaileen's over the hill cake that she made. It was pretty hot there so the frosting started melting and the letters started falling off but I think it turned out pretty cool!

Hey, look I really was there! :)

Shaileen loves her sisters!

Me and Nelson!

Nelson and his alfalfa hair!

Yes, the cake was that good!

Cindy and one of her good friends!
