Pumpkin Carving 2013

Its that time of the year again. When I say that I mean it is time to carve pumpkins for Halloween. While I was at work today Shaileen drove to Walmart and picked up the pumpkins. She bought 4 of them. I must say that she did a pretty good job picking them out too. There was one for me, Shaileen, Jax and a family one. We had a blast. Jax was having a good time until he decided that it was time to eat and fall asleep.

Jax's first rainy BYU game

This past Saturday we went to the BYU game. Before we left we didn't think it would be that bad of weather because it said 30% chance of rain. 30% my eye, that weather man was full of bologna. It was terrible weather. Luckily it cleared up after two hours and the game was on. We brought Jax with us. Initially we were scared but the weather ended up being just perfect. To begin with he was in a wrap while he was sleeping but woke up pretty quick and wanted to enjoy the game. The football game was incredible. Everybody was not expecting much out of BYU because they played terrible the week before. They came out ready to play however and killed Texas 40-21. During the game Jax got a little fussy for a while, so Shaileen took him out into the concourse to calm him down. Luckily we have isle seats this year so it was nice when BYU scored a touchdown because Shaileen would run up and give me a high 5. Can't hardly wait another 2 weeks until their next game when BYU plays Utah. Should be a fun game.

On Sunday Kurt and I just watched the morning session of Conference together!! Right after the morning session we went on a little min road trip with my Dad, Cindy, and Carlye. We drove to Fairfield, UT where my dad lived for the first 11 years of his life. He grew up on a 40 thousand acre ranch there. We walked around the town Cedar Fort as well, that is where his church and Elementary school were. It was AWESOME listening to his storied of growing up. I videotaped the whole thing and there will be a later post on that!!

That night we then got together at Taylorsville Park with my mom and Greg and most of the kids for our Sunday dinner. We had sub sandwiches and other yummy salads and goodies!! It was a fun night!

What a great weekend!! (Sorry I know its a LONG post!!!)

Can you smell it in the air?

ITS FOOTBALL SEASON AGAIN!
Can't you smell it in the air? This time of the year is the absolute best. There is nothing like football season. If you know anything about us we are huge BYU fans of every sport but especially football! Yesterday we drove straight from work because we thought the traffic in Provo was going to be horrible because of the nasty construction down there. The good news is they are so close to being done that the traffic was not bad at all. We showed up to the game about 2 hours early and walked around the stadium. Of course we had to go to the bookstore and get some new apparel too. That is certainly a must. We then went and got a burrito and a salad from Costa Vida to fill us up. That is some dang good food! I love showing up early to watch the players warm up and feel the atmosphere. The kickers are the most fun to watch warm up, they are amazing. Next time you are early to any football game make sure you watch them, for any team. LaVell Edwards Stadium had some renovations done to it this past off season and it looks dang good. There are new scoreboards on each side of the endzone with boards that go across the whole endzone for advertizement. It brightens the stadium a ton. During one of BYU's possessions the boards were flashing and it was driving me crazy. I can't imagine what our team was thinking with it flashing in their eyes. Hopefully they get that fixed. The pregame was awesome. There were fireworks and lots of noise. I took a video and put it below, make sure you check it out! The boys played great and won 30-6 against Washington State. The defense was especially great and held Wash St. to -5 yards rushing throughout the game. Absolutely Incredible. We look forward to the rest of the season and I am sure you will see more posts coming throughout the season as well. Now on to what you are really here for. THE PICTURES! ENJOY!!!

What a great Saturday!

Yesterday we had a really fun day. It started out by waking up and going to both of my nephews championship little league football games. Unfortunately they both lost but they played really well. It was really fun but absolutely freezing. The wind was blowing very hard and started to rain/snow at the end. Later that night we went to the BYU vs Idaho game. It was really fun. It started at 7:30pm so it was a really late game. BYU spanked Idaho and the final score was 42-7! If you have not found out by now we are huge BYU fans! We had to be with going to that game last night because it was way late and super cold!

BYU vs San Jose

BYU football season is right about half way over! We just love BYU games as I have said many times. Last night was a bit crazy because the game did not even start until 8:15pm so it was a late one...it got over and we got in our cars at about 11:30 and got home about 12:30. We were curious what would have happened if the game went into double overtime and it hit midnight. BYU has a very strong stance against playing on Sunday so we would be curious of what would have happened. Before the game last night we stopped by Costa Vida in Orem and boy it was delicious. After a week of a little bit of chaos it was nice to be able to sit down and enjoy some football!

BYU VS UCF

Last nights BYU game was much more fun! It was BYU vs UCF and BYU pullled it out 27-17. I was quite scared going into that game because UCF is a very good football team. We love going to the games! GO COUGARS!!!!

BYU COUGARS HOME OPENER 2011

It was finally time for some home field football. As you may not already know we are huge BYU fans. We arrived down in Provo right about 4pm and did some tailgating with Shaileen's side of the family. It was delicious. They made some BBQ chicken, potatoes with bacon and other stuff inside, fruit of all kinds, rolls, desert and even more. After tailgating we went to the stadium pretty early to go to the BYU store. I got a new BYU hat (one that actually fits for once) and BYU tie, and Shaileen got a new gameday shirt and earrings. When the team came out for the game they put off fireworks which was the first time I ever remember the team doing it. We had a really fun time even though the game did not end up even close to what we wanted. We are still huge fans and will be to all of the games! GO COUGARS! (check out the video posted below)
