Little Miss Carlye Ann wanted to be the same as me and do the Frankenstein!!
She did such a good job... turned out great!!

On Sunday Kurt and I just watched the morning session of Conference together!! Right after the morning session we went on a little min road trip with my Dad, Cindy, and Carlye. We drove to Fairfield, UT where my dad lived for the first 11 years of his life. He grew up on a 40 thousand acre ranch there. We walked around the town Cedar Fort as well, that is where his church and Elementary school were. It was AWESOME listening to his storied of growing up. I videotaped the whole thing and there will be a later post on that!!

That night we then got together at Taylorsville Park with my mom and Greg and most of the kids for our Sunday dinner. We had sub sandwiches and other yummy salads and goodies!! It was a fun night!

What a great weekend!! (Sorry I know its a LONG post!!!)

Scott's 50th Surprise Birthday

On Tuesday night we had a surprise 50th birthday for Shaileen's Dad. We had a pretty great time. Over 50 people met up at Red Robin and we had a great time.

This past Sunday we celebrated his birthday party and we gave him his birthday present. He was kind of bummed because he did not get any peanuts. You better believe that we did not forget the peanuts! He was pretty excited to see them.

This is Shaileen's over the hill cake that she made. It was pretty hot there so the frosting started melting and the letters started falling off but I think it turned out pretty cool!

Hey, look I really was there! :)

Shaileen loves her sisters!

Me and Nelson!

Nelson and his alfalfa hair!

Yes, the cake was that good!

Halloween Costume Party

Last night Tristen and Nelson threw a pretty fun party at the Davis house. I hope you can tell that it was a costume party cause my hair does not grow that fast! :) It was a lot of fun as you can tell.

Shaileen and I dressed up as rockers. I was busy tearing out a tree with my dad today so I hardly had any time to get ready so you got some hair, old bright jeans and a tapout shirt... hahaha... shaileen on the other hand went all out and even watched youtube videos on how to do her makeup.

Rock on!

We busted up laughing when Shaileen's dad walked into the room cause we were not expecting him to dress up but boy did he dress up~

Megan and Ryan showed up! I love the fannypack that Megan was showing off. Even better was Ryan was wearing snowboard boots to act like moon boots...that is dedication cause snowboard boots are a pain to walk around in!

The Real Salt Lake soccer game was on so everyone wanted to watch it. I am not much into soccer so I had no idea what was going on. I kept asking questions and they looked at me "like dont you know that already?" When ever I had the chance I would switch the channel back to some real sports, FOOTBALL!

Carlye had a blast playing with Max. She cant wait to be an Aunt and babysit for us when we have a child!

Utah State Fair 2011

Its that time of year again! Both Shaileen and I absolutely love the Utah State Fair. We look forward to going each and every year. I didn't take too many photos but here are a few!

Carlye wanted to have a snowcone real bad!

GRRRRRRR.....

Carlye showing off her blue teeth

Carlye wanted to go on another ride but I talked her into going on the gravitron. She was scared getting on but as soon as the ride started she loved it! The gravitron is probably my most favorite ride ever! You just get in and stand against the wall. Then it starts spinning so fast that you stick to the wall and pretty much float. It is one of the coolest feelings ever! One of my favorite things to do at the fair is to see the photography section which is upstairs at the grandstand. This year I did not enter in any of my work because I kinda forgot but the photography that was there was really cool! I am thankful for the opportunity that we have to get out and have fun and not just have to sit in our house all of the time!

Quarter Trick on Carlye

Carlye slept over and she was begging to do a prank on Tristen so we decided that we would backfire on her and do the quarter trick! It didnt work as well as we wanted it to but we did it anyways...

Brazilian Festival

Yesterday before the BYU game we went to the Brazilian Festival up at the Gateway. As you can see in the photos we had some fun and Shaileen, Tristen, Cindy & Carlye had a blast doing Zumba! Thankfully I had my camera so i was able to have an excuse not to have to do it. It was fun learning a little bit about Brazilian Culture.

On our way home from the Brazilian Festival we decided to jam out a little bit! You know you are jealous of our coolness.. :)

VEGAS BABY!

VEGAS BABY! This past weekend we planned a little getaway with Tristen and Nelson to go down to vegas to get a way for a while. As you will be able to tell from the pictures we had a blast.

This is us driving down to vegas in our car
We must have been driving too fast because all of a sudden I looked our my rear view mirror and the wing on the back of our car went flying behind us down the road. Thankfully we noticed it fly off because we were able to reverse down the shoulder of the highway to pick it up and put it in the back of the car to fix when we got home!

The first thing we did when we got to Vegas is we went to the Silverton Hotel and Casino to sign up for the players card there because they give you a free buffet and $5 to play with. They have this awesome fish tank with every kind of fish you could possibly think of. I was the only one that had ever seen it before so it was cool to take everyone there and have them enjoy it. We were not able to see the show this time but in this tank they have mermaids swim all around in it and put on shows. Next time we go down we will have to make sure we catch the show.

Shaileen was excited because there was a casino named "Shea's Casino" ...here she is pointing it out...funny thing is we never even went inside there. :)

We stopped by the Flamingo hotel and stopped and saw the flamingos and huge cat fish they had in the rivers. There was this cool waterfall so we couldn't pass up the opportunity for a fun little photo!

As we were walking around in the Forum Shops inside of Caesars Palace we saw Mike Tyson. We didnt have enough time to stop and take pictures but it was cool to see someone famous there!

We were able to go see Nathan Burton! He put on an excellent show, he does comedy magic. The things he was able to do with making things disappear and reappear were incredible. The best thing were the tickets were free (we did decide to upgrade to better seats though which was totally worth it)

This is the stip taken from the 3rd floor of the M&M factory!

We went down to Fremont Street (old strip) and Tristen was soooo excited that Michael Jackson was there. She had to take a picture with him. As you can see Mr. T, Stevie Wonder & Tupac were there too...we had a great time down there. One of my favorite things to do down there is watch the spray paint artists do their thing down there. It is hard to explain and I don't want to ruin it for you so if you are ever there make sure you stop and watch!

This is my favorite photo of us from the trip I think, we were just waiting for the bus!

Shaileen was in her element because of all of the walking around and shopping that we did!

Ok...nevermind I think this one is my favorite!

Before we left for Vegas we booked the Legends show tickets on Expedia and it came with a free buffet at Harrahs. It was sure worth it because the show was great. It was a show of impersonators of singers. It was a blast. The impersonators really looked just like who they were going for as well. I though the Steven Tyler look alike was the closest.

Steven Tyler making the move on Shaileen

Lady Gaga and her monsters

I think this was Stevie Wonder but was not sure because I could not see him

And you cant go without Elvis in Vegas

We went inside the new Cosmopolitan Hotel and this is a photograph I took of the Chandelier that is 3 stories tall. It is absolutely incredible. If you ever get the chance to go there you have to take the chance and do it. It is easily my favorite hotel there because of how contemporary it is. Make sure you watch the Video to check out what the full thing looks like...

This gives you a glimpse

These were two huge random shoes that were in the middle of the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

These last several pictures were taken atop the Stratosphere. We did not realize that we could go to the top for free since we stayed in this hotel. It sure is a pretty sight from up there.

The night before we left we went into the Gold & Silver Pawn shop. This is where they film the TV show "Pawn Stars". It was really cool to see what it looks like in real life. We just missed Old Man which we were kind of bummed about but it is ok.

I thought this was really cool to be able to see a bunch of championship rings whether it be college, Superbowl etc.

We had a great time on this vacation and were happy to be able to get away for just a bit.
